The Lost Woods community get-together 2025

Join us for our third annual 'Seeding Ideas' Community Get-together on Friday 19 September, 9.30am - 3.30pm, at Mac's Farm, Ditchling!

This special gathering brings together our vibrant community to celebrate and nurture both our woodlands and the people who care for them and about them, and this year we're running a whole host of workshops during the event. Places are limited so book your tickets today!

Everyone in the Lost Woods project area, whether you're already part of our programme or curious about getting involved for the first time!

It's a great chance to connect with fellow woodland enthusiasts over a lunch of delicious sandwiches and home-made cake.

Veteran Tree Recording - Help give our ancient giants the heritage protection they deserve! Join an introductory talk about this groundbreaking project, then embark on a short exploration to map a previously undocumented tree of significance.

Community Engagement: Planning & Strategy - Master the art of connecting your local community with their woodland heritage. Learn proven techniques for inspiring understanding, enjoyment, and protection of your local woods.

Community Engagement: Wellbeing in the Woods - Discover how woodlands can nurture mental health and community wellness. Explore activities that bring healing and connection through nature.

Community Engagement: Creative Activities - Perfect for families! Learn engaging craft projects and children's activities that make woodland learning fun and memorable for all ages.‍

Community Engagement: Leading Wildlife Walks - Gain confidence in guiding others through woodland discoveries. Learn storytelling techniques and identification skills to create magical wildlife experiences.

Citizen Science in Action - Become a woodland detective! Get hands-on training with digital plant, wildlife and bird identification tools like iRecord and Merlin, plus practical field experience with a local wildlife expert to contribute valuable data for conservation.
